Hi, I’m Angela.

I am a Carolina girl born and raised in Greensboro, NC.  My second home growing up was the South Carolina Coast, hence the love of all things water.  I still have not made it to full-time coastal living, but it is the plan!

I have been interested in art as long as I can remember, from always carrying around a sketch pad to touring countless European Galleries with my Mom.  My formal journey into the art world began when I met Andy Braitman in 2000.   I have since logged countless (and often exhausting) hours into the pursuit of chasing luminosity, texture, and energy in my work.

Studying the effect that light has on an object and capturing that light is a constant source of fascination.  I strive to surprise myself with each painting. I love to create chaos on the canvas and then bring the painting into focus, constantly trying to see how much more I can leave out, bridging the gap between impressionism and abstraction.  With each of my paintings, I work to be more abstract.  I build up layers of paint with brush and palette knife allowing my subjects to wander softly in and out of the background.  My process is all about the journey — it is truly a dance between the unknown and the known.

I live in Charlotte, NC with my family and two dogs.  I am very grateful to do what I love everyday.
