So excited to be teaching again in Charlotte this spring and even more excited to be teaching a Color Boot Camp Workshop! The workshop will be held May 2 - 4 at Myers Park Baptist Church in their Youth Hall. This isn't going to be another one of those boring old workshops, I promise to make these three days fun and filled with color exploration from several different approaches. We will be completing several smaller paintings as well as a some larger studies. To register and get more information, click here.
October is such a beautiful time of the year in Charlotte, which makes me excited to be hosting my next workshop October 25-27, 2017. Class is filling up fast though and we only have a few spots left. We would love to have you join us, to get more information and to register, click here.
In February I am looking forward to heading south and visiting one of my favorite cities! I will be traveling down to Atlanta for my first workshop of 2018 at Binders Art Supplies in Buckhead. Such exciting news! I have scheduled my next Charlotte Workshop for October 2017 and I have scheduled an Atlanta Workshop for February 2018! "Exploring The Surface" will include topics like: Color Theory, Value Studies and Simplification, as well as other subjects. Space will be limited at both venues, so please register early and feel free to email me with any questions.
Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of teaching a workshop here in my hometown of Charlotte, NC to a very talented group of students. We held the workshop in the education building at Myers Park Baptist Church, which was a fantastic space to paint in and a great group of people to work with. One of the highlights of the workshop was day two when several students brought in stunning Hydrangeas in a variety of colors from their own gardens to paint from! I truly enjoyed watching everyone get to know each other and become friends as well as turn to one another for advise during the process. I look forward to my next workshop here in Charlotte coming this fall!
The 2016 Workshop Calendar is still in the works but we are pleased to share these dates with you as they are available. Teaching is one of my most favorite things and I hope to see you in a workshop next year!
2015 Painting Workshop Schedule
Our workshop schedule has been finalized and registration is now open for all three 2015 workshops. Please follow links below or visit the Events page for more information. Hope to see you in Greensboro, Charlotte or Atlanta!
April 18-20, 2015: Greensboro - 3 spots available
Some feedback from previous students:
“I have worked with three experienced teachers during my two years painting, but have certainly learned the most from Angela Nesbit. She is most professional and her style puts one at ease to accomplish personal goals during the allotted time.” -- John Readhead, Greensboro
“Angela’s workshop was well organized & steps were simplified and clear, which was extremely helpful. Angela’s teaching style resonated with me and there was a good balance of instruction/demo time with painting time. I appreciated the personal quality coaching & positive encouragement preceding critiques." -- Cinthia Griffin, Charlotte
“Not only is Angela an incredibly talented artist, she is so generous as a teacher in sharing her knowledge of color, value and technique. I left the 3 day workshop with confidence in my own abilities and even a greater appreciation of the skills Angela possesses.” -- Jackie Wieland, Greensboro
On Saturday, February 7, the Charlotte art community will celebrate the 15th Annual Art With Heart at Founders Hall. This successful event is a fundraiser for Safe Alliance, which supports victims of domestic and sexual violence and child abuse and helps people build safe, healthy relationships.
I am honored to once again participate and to have my painting, "Golden Umbrella", selected for the juried live auction.
Tickets are available at artwithheartauction.com/tickets.
